“ The problem I have with wishing is, when you become too dependent on it, you’re downplaying your ability to achieve goals without mystical assistance. It is the laziest form of activism. ”

“ SELAH stop and listen. ”

As I browsed through my much neglected tumblr tonight, I stumbled upon my first post captioned, “look at us, running around, always rushed, always late.. I guess that’s why they call it the human race.” Today was a much needed Selah day, a day of rest, a day of appreciating God’s grace & mercy. If only we would stop and listen, we can hear Him calling. Thank You Lord for my selah.

Being Bastille Day, I was reminded of José Rizal, a movie I watched not too long ago. José Rizal, the Filipino’s national hero, a patriot and the most prominent advocate for reform in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era.

“He was a proponent of achieving Philippine self-government peacefully through institutional reform rather than through violent revolution, although he would support “violent means” as a last resort.” (Dr. Pablo S, The Inquirer 2007)

Though each movement occurred in different nations, Bastille being in France and the Philippine Revolution being in the Philippines and in different eras, 1789-199 and 1896–1898, I was reminded of the People Power and humanity’s ability to push forward despite the most dire circumstance.

Browsing through Postgrad courses is like shopping, you admire it and see
if it “fits”. Sometimes you find the bargains that will “just do” or you
can aim high and wonder why you even bothered with not even a penny to your
name. And so you go back to window shopping and wait it out ‘til you’ve
acquired enough to your name to find the one that fits just right. Or you can
return to tumblr and blog about it.
